Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that a loan move for Djed Spence might be on the cards as the right-back is expected to consider his options over the coming weeks.
Although Spence has not made a single start for Tottenham since his loan move in the summer, multiple journalists have continued to insist over recent weeks that the 22-year-old is very much in the North London club’s future plans.
Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside a couple of weeks ago that the Spurs hierarchy are ‘convinced’ that the former Middlesbrough man is going to be a ‘great investment’ for the club.
Meanwhile, Alasdair Gold said on his YouTube channel a few days ago that there has been no indication from anyone at Tottenham to the England Under-21 international’s entourage that they are planning on loaning him out.
Jones has now stated that while it is too early to contemplate which team the right-back could join on loan, the youngster will have discussions with the club soon over his future.
When asked if Spence can be loaned out, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “They’re going to have a chat about that soon. He will consider his options and what might be best for him. Beyond that, I think it is a bit too soon to be contemplating who else might come in.”
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Tottenham are thought to be on the lookout for a new right wing-back in January, suggests that Conte and his coaching staff are not convinced about Spence’s ability to make the step up this season. So, I think a loan move for the 22-year-old remains a big possibility in January.
