Journalist claims Spurs teenage centre-back could be pre-season ‘wildcard’

Football London journalist, Rob Guest has claimed that Maksim Paskotsi could be a pre-season ‘wildcard’ for Nuno Espirito Santo this summer.

Tottenham play their first match of the pre-season against Leyton Orient this Saturday, with a number of players still missing from Hotspur Way.

The centre-back position, in particular, is looking sparse, with Eric Dier and Cameron Carter-Vickers currently training under the new head coach. However, Toby Alderweireld, Joe Rodon, Davinson Sanchez, and Ben Davies are all still on holiday.

It is said that 18-year-old Maksim Paskotsi has been training with the first team this week and the lack of centre-backs at the club could work in his favour on Saturday.

Paskotsi won the Baltic Cup with Estonia this summer after being handed his international debut earlier in the year.

Guest claims that youngsters such as Paskotsi, Eyoma, Okedina and Omole will all be options for Nuno to rotate onto the pitch this weekend.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This kid looks special. Now with football under his belt for the youth sides and even an international side, the next step for Paskotsi is to train with the first team and get some pre-season minutes under Nuno.
