As things stand, Tottenham are set to lose some major stars in the summer of 2020, with Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, and Toby Alderweireld all entering the final year of their respective contracts.

Eriksen has been the subject of much speculation of late, especially since the Great Dane revealed his desire to leave Tottenham in search of a step up and a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

The playmaker has been constantly linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid in this transfer window (Metro).

However, Spurs may now be set to offer the attacking midfielder a new contract in order to persuade him to stay in North London.

Meanwhile, Man United have reportedly dropped their interest in signing Spurs centre-back Toby Alderweireld (Express), giving Tottenham the chance to tie him down to a new deal too.

Journalist, Graeme Bailey, has now claimed that Spurs are readying new deals for both Eriksen and Alderweireld, and they are confident that both may sign.

  1. It was just reported the other day that Eriksen would not sign a new contract with Tottenham. So why offer the 2 faced soggy sack of monkey s**t a new deal? Sell his arse. But give Toby everything he deserves.

  2. Right now, I wouldn’t care if Eriksen left. After all, he has made it clear that he wants to leave. Just let him go (for the right amount of money). I’d like to see Toby & Jan sign new contracts though. They have both been model professionals over any transfer stuff going on.

  3. New contracts for both Vertongen and Toby but Eriksen should move on,he was not the force he was and if rumours persist about a possible move away next year to a “new” challenge would be bad for the team.,if ManU offer £60 mill take it and bring in Celso.

  4. Agree with both “USA Tottenham fan” and “Bob” about Eriksen. He is now past his sell date. I’m a USA Tottenham fan also but was born in Tottenham and lived just about a miule from the ground. My brother and I used to walk to WHL back in the 60s.

Where in the US are you “USA Tottenham fan”?

  5. For clarification eriksen said he would welcome a new challenge and if it works have come I’m sure he would be gone but that doesn’t look like an option so u either take a cut rate deal at this point or u give him a new deal which buys u some time to find a suitable arrangement. I don’t think even Levy sees his future here or he wouldn’t have brought in ndoumbele, and still looking to bring in ceballos and or possibly lo celso. You can’t let hon walk out of here for nothing though so a contract seems like the logical move. Business 101

  6. They have to offer Eriksen a new contract or lose him for free next year. Spurs will hope that if they do not receive a decent offer for him in the next two windows that they can still get some money for him . It is very possible that no offers comein for him because not everyone has been fooled. the idea that 60 million is a low offer for CE is a joke. Spurs should and will jump at any offer north of 40 million. Please lets see the back of him,

  7. Having been with us and played exceptionally well for 7 seasons, you have to wonder why the vitriol against Eriksen? In fact Toby is worse in do much as he’s remained silent leaving his future open to conjecture? During his absence Sanchez filled and played exceptionally well culminating in an 18 match unbeaten run? Personally if CE holds the key for a new influx of quality players, then off you go and thanks for a brilliant time with us
