Italian journalist, Nicolo Schira has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced talks with Son Heung-min’s agent over a new contract for the forward.
Reports first emerged last month that Tottenham were looking to tie the South Korean down to a new deal (Athletic).
Those rumours were then confirmed by Jose Mourinho, who hinted that he expects the 28-year-old to agree on a new contract since all parties want him to stay at Spurs.
However, Son’s chances of signing a new deal were thrown into doubt over the last month after multiple reports emerged that the forward’s decision to change his representation to CAA and BASE may complicate negotiations (Telegraph and Daily Mail).
If Schira is to be believed, it appears that Tottenham fans do not have anything to worry about as progress is being made in talks between the club and Son’s representatives.
The journalist took to social media to reveal that the parties are in advanced talks over a new four and a half year contract for Son.
