Italian journalist Camilo Forte has showered praise on Torino defender Gleison Bremer for his performance against Juventus on Saturday and revealed that Tottenham are one of the clubs looking at the centre-back ahead of the summer.
It was reported ahead of the January transfer window that Bremer was one of the central defenders on Tottenham’s wishlist (TuttoSport).
According to CalcioMercato, Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici is a fan of the Brazilian and is keen on bringing him to North London.
Italian publication Il Giornale (as relayed by SportWitness) revealed last month that Spurs were facing competition from AC Milan and Inter Milan for the centre-back’s signature.
Forte has given rave reviews of the way Bremer shutdown Dusan Vlahovic in Torino’s 1-1 draw against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday.
The journalist suggested that the 24-year-old was bound for the Premier League and named Spurs as one of his potential destinations in the summer.
Forte told Tuttomercatoweb about Bremer: “The Brazilian has been expressing himself at very high levels for some time now. On Friday he stopped Vlahovic, but in recent seasons he had also cancelled champions of the calibre of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lukaku.

“He did very well on the pitch, I think England is in his future: I see him in one of the Premier League teams, Liverpool, Tottenham and both Manchester teams are on his trail.
“And they are right to follow him closely, for me Bremer is currently the strongest defender in Europe”.

Bremer is extremely talented and seems to possess the attributes necessary to succeed in the Premier League. However, I would not expect him to be on the top of Tottenham’s wishlist in the summer since Conte is more likely to prioritise a move for a natural left-sided centre-back like Sven Botman.
