Journalist claims Tottenham are ‘pushing a lot’ to sign this striker

The speculation regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s rumoured move for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik has picked up pace this month.

While Spurs have been linked with a move for Milik since March, Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) revealed on May 13 that the Lilywhites had made a player plus cash offer for the Napoli star.

The report claimed that Spurs and Juventus were going head to head for the centre-forward’s signature ahead of the summer transfer window.

Italian transfer expert, Nicolo Schira, reported last week that Tottenham had already entered into talks with Napoli to sign the 26-year-old.

He claimed that the Polish international would not be renewing his contract, which expires next summer, and is expected to leave the San Paolo Stadium when the transfer window reopens.

Sport Italia journalist Alfredo Pedulla (as relayed by TuttoNapoli) has now provided another update on the transfer. He claims that Spurs are ‘pushing a lot’ to sign the experienced striker this summer.

He also asserted that the striker has decided not to extend his deal with Napoli. Pedulla claims both Chelsea and Juventus could challenge Tottenham for the striker’s signature.

It looks as if there has been some movement on this deal over the past week with multiple sources reporting more or less the same details. Among the strikers that will be available this summer at a relatively low price, Milik is by far the best option we could go for. However, that also means that he will likely attract a lot of interest from others.
