Journalist claims Tottenham have made a ‘very good offer’ for PL defender

Transfer expert Dean Jones has revealed that Tottenham have made a ‘very good offer’ for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger, 28, is approaching the end of his contract at Stamford Bridge and progress regarding fresh terms is reportedly at a standstill.

As such, the Germany international’s situation is said to be attracting interest from a host of European sides who are looking to secure a free transfer in the summer.

Tottenham have also been keeping tabs on Rudiger and are reportedly eyeing up a move that could see him reunite with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The club’s managing director Fabio Paratici is allegedly eager to push through with a move and has been credited with keeping in regular contact with his representatives.

Jones believes Spurs have submitted a tempting offer for Rudiger to make the switch across London, but feels the lingering presence of some of Europe’s biggest clubs could make a move a tricky one to complete.

He told The Football Terrace: “I don’t think he [Rudiger] is desperate to stay in England, but equally I don’t think he considers himself so loyal to Chelsea that he couldn’t consider that.

“Tottenham are in for him as well. I don’t think they will get him, but they have made a very good offer, obviously there is Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG too.”

The rumours surrounding Rudiger will continue throughout this month with his Chelsea contract still yet to be resolved. It is already a challenging deal to complete with the rivalry between both clubs, and it will be made even harder with so many top clubs linked to him too.
