Journalist claims Tottenham have now changed their mind about attacker

Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have now given the green light for Bryan Gil to leave on loan before the transfer window closes.

On the back of Gil’s impressive showing over recent weeks against the likes of Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Portsmouth, it seemed like the winger was set to stay at the club.

Estadio Deportivo reported two weeks ago that despite the likes of Valencia, Sevilla, Espanyol, Mallorca and Cadiz showing interest in the 21-year-old, Antonio Conte had decided to hold on to him.

However, Conte appears to have changed his mind after Tottenham managed to add another attacker to their squad in the form of Arnaut Danjuma.

If Moretto’s latest update is to be believed, the North London club have decided that Gil is now free to leave on loan. The journalist added that talks over the Spain international’s future are set to accelerate over the coming days.

I am a little confused as to why Conte would decide that Gil can leave after signing a player in Danjuma, who is at his best playing on the left or through the middle. Given Lucas’ injury owes, Gil is the only other player that can naturally cover for Dejan Kulusevski on the right.
