Journalist claims Tottenham have ‘officially informed’ player he can leave this summer

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Tottenham are happy to part ways with central midfielder Harry Winks this summer.

Winks made just 19 appearances in the Premier League this season (TransferMarkt) and clearly does not have the favour of current Spurs boss Antonio Conte.

The Italian has seemingly preferred the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur and Oliver Skipp over Winks in the middle of the pitch.

The Daily Star report that both Newcastle United and Southampton are interested in signing the Spurs man this summer.

And O’Rourke has reported that if an offer comes in that the club feels is suitable, the Hotspur Way academy graduate may be granted the fresh start his career needs.

He tweeted: “Tottenham have officially informed Harry Winks that they will listen to offers for him this summer with the club seeking a fee of around £20m for the midfielder.”

Seeing Winksy rise through the ranks as a boyhood Spurs fan, it won’t be a happy day when he leaves. However, with the Evening Standard claiming that Conte has his heart set on seven new signings ahead of next season, it is vital that Spurs make space in the squad and are ruthless with their outgoings.
