Tottenham Hotspur looked pretty strong at the back during pre-season this summer, particularly in the centre of defence.
Spurs’ iconic duo of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld were in their usual brick wall type form over the pre-season fixtures.
Davinson Sanchez also returned to action after his exploits in the Copa America for Colombia, although Juan Foyth suffered a nasty injury off the ball for Spurs.
The surprise package of the tour came in the form of Japhet Tanganga, who featured heavily for Tottenham across the Asia Tour and the Audi Cup.
The 20-year-old barely put a foot wrong across the six big fixtures and impressed Spurs fans with his defensive skills.
Unfortunately, this left little room for USA international, Cameron Carter-Vickers, as he did not feature for Spurs at all during pre-season.
Sky Sports reporter, Paul Gilmour, claimed earlier today that Carter-Vickers was close to joining Stoke City on loan for the season.
However, the BBC’s Ian Dennis now says the defender may join Stoke for a fee of £6m.
