Journalist claims two more PL clubs have entered race for Spurs’ Bergwijn

Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported that Crystal Palace and Brighton have now become the latest clubs to enter the race for Tottenham winger Steven Berwijn.

It was reported last week that Ajax had made an offer of around €20m (£17.1m) for Bergwijn in the hope of bringing him back to Holland (De Telegraaf).

The Daily Mirror subsequently claimed that Ajax’s opening offer for the former PSV Eindhoven man was rejected by Spurs on Friday, with the Eredivisie giants now said to be readying a second offer worth around £20m including adds.

Everton have also been credited with an interest (Daily Mail) in the 24-year-old this summer. Fabrizio Romano claimed on Monday that Spurs are demanding a fee of €30m (£25.6m) to part ways with the wide-man.

Konur has now taken to social media to reveal that Palace and Brighton are also keen on landing Bergwijn. However, the journalist added that the Tottenham man prefers joining Ajax.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not surprised that Bergwijn is attracting interest from Premier League clubs. I believe the Dutchman is too good for the Eredivisie but I also understand why he would want to return to the comforts of a league he knows ahead of the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
