PA Sport journalist, Jonathan Veal has claimed that Tottenham’s fixture away to Burnley will not be played until 2022 due to the current schedule.
As we already explored on The Spurs Web, Tottenham play one game every weekend and one game every midweek until New Year’s Day, making it near impossible to squeeze an extra one in.
Veal came to the same conclusion after looking at the calendar, adding that there are Carabao Cup semi-finals on the 3rd and 10th of January, as well as possible FA Cup replays on the 17th.
However, he did suggest that January 24th and January 30th are currently clear, so a rearranged fixture could be placed there.
Quick look at when the Burnley game could get rearranged. December a write off (9 games already in). Then Carabao Cup semi-finals are w/c 3 and 10 January if Spurs get through. W/c 17 is a possible FA Cup third round replay. W/c 24 and 31 currently clear #THFC

Definitely won’t be before the new year. Carabao Cup semi finals are w/c 3 and 10 January if Spurs get through. W/c 17 is a possible FA Cup third round replay. W/c 24th and 31st currently clear

Of course, we do not yet know with any certainty when the Premier League will reschedule Burnley versus Tottenham for. This came after the game was postponed due to heavy snowfall at Turf Moor this afternoon.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I agree with Veal that the fixture is likely going to be played either during or just after the two-week Premier League break in January. It’s just a shame for all involved that it could not be played today.
