Journalist delivers positive update on Heung-min Son and Spurs’ injury concerns

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has revealed that Son Heung-min is back in full training ahead of Tottenham’s FA Cup fourth-round clash against Brighton.

Son has been out of action with a muscle injury for nearly a month with the South Korean not having featured since Tottenham’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on January 5.

The 29-year-old missed Tottenham’s FA Cup third-round clash against Morecambe, the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final along with the North Londoners’ last two Premier League clashes outings against Leicester and Chelsea.

However, Thomas has now revealed that the forward has fully recovered from his injury and is in contention to start against Brighton on Saturday evening.

The journalist further added that Antonio Conte could have a fully fit squad to call upon for the clash against the Seagulls.

Cristian Romero, meanwhile, has not featured since picking up a hamstring injury in November and the Argentine’s return would also be a major boost to the Lilywhites.

Son’s return is fantastic news ahead of what is set to be a busy couple of weeks for us. One would expect Conte to revert to 3-4-3 rather than continue with a 3-5-2 after the South Korean’s return and the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.
