In what could come as a potential boost to Tottenham’s chances of getting Mauricio Pochettino and/or Antonio Conte, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Carlo Ancellotti is just one step away from joining Real Madrid.
Pochettino is thought to be Tottenham’s number one target but the Lilywhites still have some work to do to get the Argentine back to the club, with Paris Saint-Germain determined to hold on to him (Football.London).
In addition, Spurs also have some competition to contend with from Real Madrid, with previous reports revealing that the former Spurs boss is also on the La Liga giants’ radar.
Real Madrid were also rumoured to be eyeing a move for another one of Tottenham’s managerial targets in Antonio Conte.
However, it now looks as though the North Londoners could now have a free run at both candidates, with Romano revealing that it is only a matter of time before Ancelotti is confirmed as the next Real Madrid boss.
The journalist also revealed that there was no truth to rumours linking Tottenham with a move for Paulo Fonseca or Maurizio Sarri.
