Journalist expects 21-year-old’s exit to be Spurs’ only deadline day announcement

The Chief Football Correspondent at The Evening Standard, Dan Kilpatrick, has revealed that he expects Marcel Lavinier’s exit to be Tottenham’s only announcement this deadline day.

Tottenham got the vast majority of their business done early this summer, with the likes of Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, and Clement Lenglet putting pen to paper on deals with the Lilywhites.

Wing-back youngsters, Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie, were also snapped up, with the latter going back on loan to Udinese for the 2022/23 season.

Spurs also signed 17-year-old Sheffield United striker, Will Lankshear, to add to the development squad this season (Sky Sports).

However, those Tottenham fans dreaming of a late deadline day winger, centre-back, or playmaker may now have to wait until the January window.

Kilpatrick has announced it is time for him to head to bed as there are no further deals expected to be coming out of Hotspur Way between now and the deadline at 11 pm.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham ended up a couple of signings short of an incredible window, but it has still been a very good one. Conte has added so much depth to his squad this summer, and I think the main reason the mood is low with fans is because Spurs got their business done early.
