Journalist explains details of Bayern Munich’s talks with Harry Kane’s agents

Journalist Raphael Honigstein has said that Bayern Munich have found their initial talks with Harry Kane’s entourage to be ‘encouraging’.

The speculation linking Kane with a move to Bayern looks set to continue until the striker signs any potential new contract with the North London club.

CBS journalist Ben Jacobs said on the Spurs Chat Podcast a few days ago that Tottenham are ‘calm’ about the situation as the 29-year-old does not have the desire to go elsewhere.

However, German publications continue to maintain that a move to the Allianz Arena is on the cards for the Spurs talisman.

A report from Bayern Insider Podcast (as relayed by Fussball Nachrichten) claimed earlier this month that the Bundesliga giants putting together a ‘precise plan’ to lure the England captain to the Allianz Arena next summer.

Honigstein has now said that while Julian Nagelsmann’s side have been encouraged by their talks with Kane’s camp, the club feel that a deal for the Tottenham star remains improbable.

When asked about the speculation linking the striker with a move to Bayern, the journalist responded on The Athletic’s Bundesliga mailbag: “Kane remains a target and they’ve had encouraging talks with the player’s camp. But the latest I heard from Munich is that they don’t see this deal as very probable at this point.”

Bayern will not be the only club who explore a move for Kane next summer if the striker does not sign a new contract before that time. However, there is no reason for Spurs fans to panic about the situation as the striker seems quite content at the club at the moment. The 29-year-old’s future could come down to whether Conte decides to sign a new deal.
