Journalist explains what Harry Kane’s family have indicated about his future

According to journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich are still intent on signing Harry Kane this summer, and it has now been revealed how the striker’s family feel about the potential move.

Kane is coming off the back of a phenomenal season for Spurs, from a personal perspective, in which he bagged 32 goals across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

It was a disappointing campaign for Tottenham in general, however, as the club limped to an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League meaning no European football for the Lilywhites next season.

This, twinned with the fact Spurs also failed to win a trophy again, has put Kane’s future in doubt.

With just a year left on his current contract at Tottenham, many suspect the 29-year-old could be ready to move on in search of silverware.

German giants Bayern Munich have long been considered a suitor of Kane’s (The Athletic). However, a recent statement from the club’s new president, Herbert Hainer, appeared to suggest the Bundesliga side may not be able to afford Kane this summer (Bild – as translated by Sport Witness).

Kane is still thinking about a move to Germany

Now, the latest from Christian Falk offers an insight into what the Kane family feel about the idea of a move to Germany, and it sounds like the prospect of a switch is not off the table.

Falk told Caught Offside: “Bayern are hoping to still sign Harry Kane this summer. Thomas Tuchel is not just dreaming of one striker – he would love to have two new strikers, which is a big challenge for the bosses.

“Kane would be his No.1 target again. Perhaps the idea is playing with Kane on the 9 and Randal Kolo Muani.

“Whether they can get the money together is a big question. If they can’t and they don’t sign Rice for a huge amount of money, there’s more left to put into the offence.

“There are talks with Harry Kane’s family and I think they get the idea that he’s thinking about moving. The message from the Kane family is that he’s still thinking about going to the Bundesliga.”

I really cannot see Kane and his family wanting to leave England personally, but perhaps that desire to win trophies is becoming more and more of a priority now. Hopefully, he feels too settled at Spurs to disrupt his personal life, but only time will tell.
