Journalist explains what he found unusual about Paratici’s body language against Fulham

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Fabio Paratici did not look his usual flamboyant and emotional self on Monday as he remained quite muted through the game at Craven Cottage.

It emerged on the back of Juventus’ capital gains trial in Italy over the weekend that the Serie A giants would be hit with a 15-point deduction while Paratici was in line for a 30-month suspension (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Multiple sources have said that the 50-year-old’s future at Tottenham appears to be in doubt as the sanction is likely to be extended to the UK (Tancredi Palmer).

This has now been backed up by Gold, who explained that UEFA and FIFA have asked to extend the ban globally and that it also falls foul of the Premier League’s fit and proper test for owners and directors at clubs.

The journalist revealed that while the Spurs managing director usually sits behind the dugout on matchdays and is seen berating every decision that goes against Tottenham, that was not the case on Monday.

Instead, Paratici is said to have sat ‘sedately among the directors’ in the stands at Craven Cottage.

Gold also reveals that it was made clear before Conte’s post-match press conference on Monday that questions regarding the 50-year-old’s ban would not be answered.

The decision will obviously be appealed but it looks increasingly likely that Paratici does not have a future at Spurs. Even if the Tottenham managing director is absolved, the club would not want to tarnish their brand by having its football operations headed up by the 50-year-old. I suspect Spurs are waiting until the transfer window closes to finalise their decision.
