Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has explained that the imminent arrival of Fabio Paratici to Tottenham has severely diminished the chances of Mauricio Pochettino returning as the Argentine does not like working with a Director of Football.
It now looks to be only a matter of time before Spurs officially confirm Paratici’s arrival and the former Juventus man will certainly have his work cut out ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tottenham are still on the lookout for a new manager and the squad looks in desperate need of a significant rebuild.
Some sources have suggested that Spurs could reignite their interest in Pochettino after their failure to appoint Antonio Conte.
However, Alasdair Gold has explained that the Paris Saint-Germain boss is unlikely to want to come to Tottenham and work under a Director of Football.
He stated that the 49-year-old had his role increased from head coach to manager at Spurs since he liked having complete control over transfers.
In fact, Gold explains that Tottenham only pressed ahead with a move for Paratici after they admitted defeat in their efforts to bring Pochettino back.
