Journalist gives verdict on Pochettino’s future after featuring heavily in deal for Liverpool ace

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Mauricio Pochettino will remain as the head coach at Paris Saint-Germain.

Romano revealed that the Argentine played a pivotal role in the expected signing of Gini Wijnaldum from Liverpool, with the French club having gazumped Barcelona’s offer.

Pochettino is said to be a big admirer of the Dutchman and was keen to bring him to North London while he was in charge of Spurs before the midfielder joined Liverpool from Newcastle United in 2016.

The journalist insisted that Pochettino’s future remains with the Ligue 1 giants despite having held talks with Tottenham.

Daniel Levy’s search for a new head coach has been laden with issues, having called off talks with Antonio Conte and also appears to have ended up empty handed in his attempt to complete a spectacular return for Pochettino.

Tottenham have become the laughing stock of world football over their managerial search which has seen the club miss out on two high profile targets. Should Levy not land a candidate that fits the bill, surely he must have to consider his future as chairman.
