Journalist hints Nuno could replace Lucas Moura with Spanish international

Duncan Castles has claimed that Tottenham could make a move for Wolves’ Adama Traore, insisting that the North Londoners are open to cashing in on Lucas Moura this summer.

Traore was a revelation under Nuno Espirito Santo at Molineux, with the Spaniard striking fear into the opposition with his pace and power.

However, the winger struggled to hit the same heights last season as Wolves limped to a thirteenth-place finish, a far cry from the back-to-back seventh-place finishes they achieved after their promotion to the Premier League in 2018.

The Daily Star claimed last week that Nuno could look to lure Traore to Spurs this summer but suggested that the North Londoners will only do a deal if the price is right.

The report also revealed that Liverpool were hot on the trail of the Wolves star.

Castles has now suggested that the Lilywhites could indeed be looking for a new winger this transfer window and Traore could be an option for the club.

The journalist said on The Transfer Window Podcast: “Pay a little bit of attention to what Tottenham do in that area of the field.

“Nuno Espirito Santo was impressed and enjoyed working with him, and I don’t think would be against working with Adama again if the opportunity was to arise, and obviously, Tottenham, as we keep talking about, have the potential to take a lot of income in this window.”

“Tottenham are also open to offers for Lucas Moura, so there could be a vacancy on the right side, we’ve told you that they have an interest in Jesus Corona from Porto, one option for that position, but I think we should wait and see where Tottenham go with this.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I would love Traore at Spurs as I believe he will be a fantastic option to have on the bench even if he is not a regular starter.

However, I believe that Nuno would want to give Lucas Moura a chance as the Brazilian’s attributes are well suited to the Portuguese coach’s style of play.
