Journalist hints one advantage Spurs might have in Nagelsmann pursuit

The Telegraph’s Matt Law has revealed that Daniel Levy has a very good relationship with the representative of Tottenham’s managerial target, Julian Nageslmann.

Nageslmann is now thought to be at the top of Spurs’ wishlist to replace Antonio Conte (Football Insider) and some publications have talked up the Lilywhites’ chances of snapping up the recently departed Bayern boss.

The Telegraph revealed last week that the 35-year-old has had a soft spot for Tottenham since Mauricio Pochettino’s time in North London and he even owns a Spurs replica shirt.

Bild even suggested a few days ago that the German coach could be tempted to join Spurs so that he can lock horns with the world’s best coaches like Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

Meanwhile, Dean Jones told GiveMeSport earlier this week that the recently departed Bayern boss is looking for a job like the Tottenham one as he wants to build a long-term project at his next club.

Law has now revealed that Levy is tight with Nagelsmann’s agent, with the pair having spoken a lot about various players and coaches over the years.

The journalist said on Matt Hayes – Tottenham Blog podcast: “I know for sure that Daniel (Levy) has a very good relationship with Nagelsmann’s agent.

“They’ve spoken a lot about players and coaches in the past. I’m told they get on well.

“I’m told their relationship is good. I know Nagelsmann’s agent has been in England as well.

“But he has got other clients so I can’t say if it was Tottenham linked or not.”

Having a good relationship with Nagelsmann’s agent might not count for much when it comes to attracting the German to Spurs.

The 35-year-old is clearly the most sought-after manager in world football at the moment and he will choose the offer that he thinks would be the best fit for him.
