Tottenham Hotspur may find it difficult to keep hold of Toby Alderweireld beyond the end of this season, despite the player having his contract extended by a year.
Spurs decided to take up the option to add an extra season to the deal at the start of 2019, however this activated a clause in Alderweireld’s contract that will allow him to leave for just £25m in the summer.
It is a given that at least one club will come in with that kind of bid once the transfer window opens, it comes down to whether Toby wants to stay and see out his contract before leaving on a free.
However, HITC journalist Dan Coombs has now claimed that Wolves may move for the Belgian defender as part of their plan to push for the Champions League spots next year, and says that they will be able to double Toby’s wages
