Journalist Dean Jones believes that Harry Kane would push for a move away from Tottenham this summer if the club’s managerial appointment is not to his liking.
Kane will enter the final 12 months of his contract with Spurs this June (Transfermarkt) and with the striker seemingly not close to signing a new deal at the moment, the speculation over his future continues to intensify as we get closer to the summer transfer window.
The Spurs talisman has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United over recent months and The Athletic confirmed earlier this week that the striker does feature prominently in the Red Devils’ shortlist for a new centre-forward.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed a couple of days ago that Spurs were hit with a ‘shattering blow’ when they learnt that the England captain is reluctant to sign a new deal amidst interest from Old Trafford and the current chaos at Spurs.
Jones believes that Kane’s future now hangs in the balance and that the 29-year-old’s final decision could depend on the head coach that Tottenham bring in.
When asked about the striker’s future in North London, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “I think it really depends on the circumstances from which both of their careers open out from here.
“Harry Kane’s got a situation facing him now over who the new Tottenham manager will be; if that is not to his liking, then I think there’s every chance that Harry Kane is open to joining Man Utd.”

Despite reports playing down the chances of Pochettino returning to Spurs, I still believe that there is a good chance that the club would approach the Argentine if a move for Julian Nagelsmann falls through.
One of the reasons for my confidence is that Levy will be fully aware that the 51-year-old’s arrival would go a long way in convincing Kane to commit his future to the club.
