Journalist makes revelation about Tottenham’s Sancho interest

Jadon Sancho has set the Bundesliga alight this season after moving to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City last summer.

The 18-year-old’s performances have caught many people’s eye, and he has even earned a call up to the full England squad as a result.

Sancho came up against Spurs last week in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie at Wembley and the teenager certainly showed glimpses of why he is so highly rated.

It was reported last summer that Tottenham had expressed their interest in singing the attacker but that City chose to sell him abroad instead.

It now turns out that, Spurs had been monitoring Sancho even before last season. The Daily Mail’s Football Editor Ian Ladyman claimed on Twitter that Tottenham wanted to sign the teenager in exchange for Kyle Walker in the summer of 2017.

Walker moved from Spurs to Manchester City for a reported fee of £47.4 million (ESPN) after allegedly falling out with Pochettino. If Ladyman’s claim is to be believed Spurs have made multiple times to land Sancho which shows that Pochettino clearly rated him highly.
