Tottenham are expected to have a busy summer transfer window as Ange Postecoglou continues to reshape the squad to better suit his style of play and to be able to cope with the added strain of European football.

The Spurs head coach has certainly been candid about the need to make big changes this summer, admitting earlier this month that some difficult decisions would have to be made during the upcoming transfer window (Guardian).

It was reported by Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday that the likes of Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga and Djed Spence do not have futures at Tottenham while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Emerson Royal and Bryan Gil are already the subject of interest from clubs across the continent.

Tottenham will upgrade on at least seven players this summer

Jones has now become the latest journalist to suggest that there will be a mass exodus from the club this summer, stating that nine or ten players could head out of the door.

He told Ranks FC Ultras Podcast: “I think when you look at the current squad you can see nine or 10 go. I think you’ll see Richarlison go, you’ll see Hojbjerg go, people like Reguilon, Dier, Ryan Sessegnon is leaving Tottenham, Ndombele, Gil, that’s eight or nine there and they will all get upgraded.”

In previous transfer windows, Spurs have often waited too long to get rid of the deadwood in the hope of getting a decent price for them and that has crippled their ability to make the signings that they need.

The club cannot afford to repeat that mistake this summer and would need to prioritise player sales early in the window in order to make room in the squad for new arrivals.
