Journalist names three strikers on Spurs’ radar this summer – Including one from Uruguay

In what has been a departure from previous transfer windows, Tottenham Hotspur have been proactive this summer, getting plenty of business done early.

The Lilywhites have already secured the signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, and Matt Doherty, with a backup to Harry Kane reportedly next on the club’s agenda (Manchester Evening News).

Tottenham have been linked with a whole host of strikers this summer but Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now revealed who the club are actually looking at.

Gold revealed that Callum Wilson is one of the players Spurs are considering, with his homegrown status and Premier League experience making him an attractive option.

However, he claims that the Cherries’ £17 million asking price for Wilson and the striker’s injury history is causing the Lilywhites to hesitate.

He also reveals that Spurs were keeping tabs on Uruguay international Darwin Nunez but that the 21-year-old is now edging closer to a move to Benfica.

Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik is another centre-forward Tottenham have reportedly looked at this summer.

However, the journalist asserts that contrary to speculation in the press, the Lilywhites have not made any attempts to sign Josh King or Chris Wood and are unlikely to do so.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on the above report, it sounds as if Callum Wilson is the one we are most likely to go for. While that is not a signing that is likely to get fans off their seat, the England international will still comfortably be the best Kane backup we have had over the last five years. I would be okay with bringing Wilson in if that means that we are potentially saving money for a big-money addition elsewhere (centre-back or attacking midfield).
