Journalist notices ‘theme’ with recent Harry Kane Tottenham interviews

PA Sport journalist Jonathan Veal has noticed a theme emerging with Harry Kane’s interviews, pointing out the striker’s repeated assertions about qualifying for the Champions League.

Fabrizio Romano revealed last week (Here We Go Podcast) that Kane is enjoying working with Antonio Conte and that the striker’s future could be tied in with the Italian’s.

Kane admitted to Football.London ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Manchester United that the big test of how much the Lilywhites have improved under Conte would be where they finish this season.

The striker had also insisted earlier this month that the Spurs head coach is helping him become a better player and add more ‘strings to his bow’ (Football.London).

Despite Spurs falling to a loss at Old Trafford, Kane said in an interview with Sky Sports on Monday that qualifying for the Champions League remains Tottenham’s aim this season.

The England captain also showered praise on the work Conte has done during his fourth months in North London.

Here’s how Veal responded to Kane’s latest words regarding the top four and Conte: “Kane again outlining the importance of top four and Conte to Spurs. There’s a theme emerging.”

Reading between the lines of Kane’s recent comments, it does sound like the striker believes that Conte could bring success to Tottenham but wants to wait and see if the club finish in the top four before making a decision on his future.
