Journalist offers update on Spurs pursuit of two Benfica striker this summer

Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he wants to add another striker to the squad before the transfer window closes on October 5.

Several names, including the likes of Wout Weghorst (Tubantia) and Habib Diallo (The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare), have been mentioned as possible targets for the Lilywhites.

Portuguese TV show Mais Transferencias suggested last week that the Lilywhites could raid Benfica for a pair of strikers in Haris Seferovic and Carlos Vinicius.

The report suggested that Spurs had offers for Seferovic turned down during the January transfer window as well as this summer.

TVI24 (as relayed by Sport Witness) have now offered an update on Spurs’ pursuit of the Benfica duo. It is said that Spurs had a loan offer for Seferovic turned down but that Benfica are open to selling the Swiss international on a permeant deal this summer.

It is asserted that Spurs are now more focused on signing Vinicius but that the Lilywhites have made very little progress in negotiations for the Brazilian.
