TyC journalist, Gaston Edul has revealed that Cristian Romero is expected to be out injured for another ten days, meaning he will miss Tottenham’s remaining three games and make it back just in time for the World Cup.
This comes after the same journalist reported earlier this week that Cristian Romero was set to undergo further tests to determine the nature of his injury. Romero has missed three of Tottenham’s last four matches across all competitions.
Antonio Conte revealed after Spurs’ 2-1 loss against Newcastle United two weeks ago that the centre-back was only suffering from fatigue in his calf (Football.London) but the defender was subsequently also sidelined for the clashes against Bournemouth and Marseille.
The 24-year-old’s absence has certainly been felt by the Lilywhites, with Davinson Sanchez struggling at right centre-back at the Vitality Stadium, and Conte subsequently being forced to move Eric Dier into the position and play Clement Lenglet in the middle of the back three.
Edul has now taken to social media to reveal that Romero missed the clash against Marseille due to muscle strain, but will return after 10 days of rehabilitation.

It sounds like Conte opted not to play Romero as a precaution rather than due to an injury. Hopefully, the results of the tests come back positive as it will be a disaster for the centre-back to pick up a medium-term injury, given that the World Cup is now just around the corner.
