Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Christian Eriksen is interested in completing a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
On the back of Eriksen’s impressive displays for Brentford over the last few months, Tottenham are thought to be keen on offering the Dane a contract when his six-month deal at the Brentford community stadium runs out this summer (90min).
The 30-year-old’s performances are also said to have altered the likes of Newcastle United (Northern Echo), Manchester United (Daily Star) and Leicester City (Fabrizio Romano).
However, multiple publications over recent weeks have talked up the possibility of Eriksen signing a long-term contract with Brentford.
Romano said on the Que Golazo Podcast that 30-year-olds’ priority is to first sit down with the Bees to listen to their proposal.
The Telegraph have claimed that the attacking midfielder is looking for properties in the affluent West London district of Chiswick, which is just a short journey away from Brentford’s home ground.
However, Jones has now said that Eriksen would be open to returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “He (Eriksen) would have interest in going back to Tottenham, and Tottenham do have a desire to bring him back if they do qualify for the Champions League, so it seems like a no-brainer.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think qualification for the Champions League will prove to be the determining factor in whether we sign Eriksen. I believe the Dane will want assurances from Conte that he will get regular game time, which I do not think the Spurs boss will be able to give.
