Journalist predicts Spurs could still make two late signings before deadline

Journalist Dean Jones has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur could still look to bring two more players through the door before the transfer window shuts on Thursday.

What seems clear is the fact that Tottenham are on the lookout for an attacking addition to replace Bryan Gil, who is expected to return to Valencia on loan.

Los Che boss Gennaro Gattuso revealed a couple of days ago that Spurs will give the green light for the 21-year-old to fly to Spain once they bring a replacement through the door (90 min).

The likes of Wolves’ Adama Traore (GiveMeSport), Leeds United’s Dan James (Fabrizio Romano) and Everton’s Anthony Gordon (Football Insider) have all been mooted as potential targets for the Lilywhites.

However, it is unclear whether Tottenham will be making any other moves, with Football.London reporting today that Japhet Tanganga is expected to remain at the club.

The report suggested that Antonio Conte’s men are thus unlikely to pursue a central defender before Thursday’s deadline.

Jones believes there is still a chance that more than one player will arrive through the doors of Hotspur Way over the next 48 hours.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “A few options that Tottenham are starting to look at, at the moment. But we always knew that this would happen.

“Tottenham got their business done early and I was always told ‘look out for the last week, they’ll look to do two deals, Tottenham always do’. So let’s see who those guys end up being.”

With Tanganga looking set to stay, I expect Spurs to sign just one more attacker before the window slams shut. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on Traore.

We know that Paratici and Conte are both fans of the Wolves winger. The 26-year-old is also into the final year of his contract at the Molineux, which probably means the West Midlands club will sell if they receive a decent offer for the player.
