Journalist predicts Spurs player could leave ‘in last day or two of the window’

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has said that Djed Spence is the most likely to leave out of Tottenham’s three right-wing back options this January.

The Evening Standard reported on Thursday that Tottenham’s pursuit of Pedro Porro is being complicated by the fact that neither Matt Doherty nor Emerson Royal want to leave the club.

The report explained that one of the three right-backs had to leave for another to be brought through the door but asserted that despite Emerson generating interest from several European clubs, the Brazilian is happy at Spurs and wants to remain in London.

This has now been backed by Michael Bridge, who said on Sky Sports Football Daily that Tottenham could decide to loan out Spence this month in order to bring another right wing-back through the door.

The journalist suggested that a potential loan deal to a Premier League club could go through in the final day or two of the transfer window.

The fact that multiple outlets are reporting the same about Emerson’s desire to stay, suggests that the Brazilian representatives have communicated that to the media over recent days.

It does seem increasingly likely that Spence would be the one to leave. I am personally in favour of loaning the 22-year-old to a Premier League club as Conte does not appear to trust him to start.
