Journalist provides fitness update on Spurs’ Ryan Sessegnon and it’s good news

Tottenham Hotspur have had a less than ideal start to the season and the new signings are yet to make any real impression on the fans.

While Tanguy Ndombele started the season really well, he has been missing due to injury in the last two matches and it is unclear as of yet when he will be back although the injury is only said to be minor.

Giovani Lo Celso was signed late in the window and hasn’t started a game as of yet. However, it is Ryan Sessegnon who is yet to feature at all for the Lilywhites as he is still recovering from his hamstring injury.

While the club have so far not provided a clear return date for the England U-21 international, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has provided a positive update regarding his fitness.

Gold revealed that the former Fulham man is set to join full training. When quizzed regarding Sessegnon’s fitness, Gold said, “They’re expecting him in full training soon.

“Sessegnon is now in the final stages of his conditioning training and is expected to start to join in with full training at some point during this international break.

“It could still take a couple of weeks for him, working with Pochettino, before we see much of him, but he could still be a good option for the bench this month if the manager wants a bit of pace for late in matches.”

While Sessegnon clearly has an abundance of talent, he is still raw and needs to learn a lot before being ready to challenge regularly for a first-team place. He has been signed as one for the future and fans shouldn’t expect too much of the 19-year-old too quickly.
