SkySports’ Dharmesh Sheth has told GiveMeSport that new Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, may not have much of a say on the futures of Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Cahlobah this summer. Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with moves for both players.

HITC previously claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could launch a double offer for Chelsea duo Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah this summer.
The report points out that Tottenham’s interest in Gallagher has been known for a long time and with the midfielder set to enter the final year of his deal at Chelsea, Spurs are ready to press ahead with an offer.
Additionally, it is pointed out that Ange Postecoglou’s men are also keen on adding a centre-back to their squad and have now asked for information regarding the availability of Chalobah.
According to the report, the English defender, who finished the season strongly after returning from his injury layoff a few months ago, would be available this summer for around £30m.
HITC reported that this is the right price bracket for Tottenham, who could face competition from the likes of Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves for Chalobah, whilst a number of Bundesliga and Serie A sides are also keen on the player.
Finally, the publication added that while the 24-year-old would prefer to remain at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have made it clear that they want to cash in on him.

Gallagher and Chalobah futures may not be up to Chelsea boss
Dharmesh Sheth was asked about Chelsea’s new model, with a greater emphasis on a head coach leading the tactical side of things, while having less of a say on transfers.
He explained: “It seems the model that they want to do is to the extreme, whereby the head coach comes in, and just coaches the team. They want everybody above the head coach, that recruitment team and the owners to do all of the signings.”
“So yes, of course, a manager is going to have a say, ‘Oh, I’d really like to keep him’, but finances might talk on this one. So it will be taken out of the manager’s hands to a greater degree than perhaps it would at other clubs.”
Spurs Web Opinion
If Tottenham can land Chalobah and Gallagher for a combined fee of around £60m, that would be a fantastic coup as the club would have added two homegrown options in priority positions.
These are potentially two signings that can be completed quite early in the window, with Chelsea needing to sell players before the end of June to ensure they comply with PSR.
