Moura’s current contract at Spurs runs out next summer and although the North London club have the option of extending the deal by another year (Football.London), reports from Brazil over recent months have indicated that the winger could return to Sao Paulo on a free transfer next summer (UOL).
Brazilian publication Bolavip reported a few days ago that the 30-year-old could be on his way out of Spurs as early as January, with Flamengo allegedly showing interest in signing him.
The report explained that Antonio Conte’s men would be willing to let the former Paris Saint-Germain star leave for around £10m in the winter.
However, Nicola has now revealed that he has heard from Moura’s agent that there has been no contact between Flamengo and the player’s entourage.
He explained that the winger is unlikely to stay at Spurs after the end of the season and that Tottenham might not activate the option to extend his deal.
The journalist added that while Moura would consider returning to Brazil, he would be open to remaining in Europe if he receives an offer from a ‘big’ club next summer.

I do not think a January departure was ever on the cards for Moura as Conte will not want to lose a valuable squad option, and potentially leave himself short if there are a couple of injuries to the forward line.
However, this looks increasingly likely to be Lucas’ last season at Spurs. One would expect the North London club to activate the contract extension option so that they get a transfer fee for him next summer.
