Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Chelsea are set to turn their attention to rumoured Tottenham target Piero Hincapie.
Reports indicated last month that Chelsea and Spurs were set to go head-to-head for RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol in January (Tuttosport).
However, the race for Gvardiol seems to have heated up following his showing at the World Cup, with Alfredo Pedulla even stating last week that Manchester City are ready to offer a whopping €130m (£113.5m) for the Croat.
If Sheth’s latest update is to be believed, Chelsea have now turned their attention to Hincapie as an alternative to the Leipzig star.
Bild reported at the start of this month that Tottenham were willing to pay €40m (£34.5m) for the Ecuadorian during the summer transfer window and The Express have backed the North London club to reignite their interest in the 20-year-old in January, revealing that Antonio Conte’s men sent scouts to Qatar to watch the 20-year-old.
However, Sheth has now taken to social media to reveal that Chelsea are also eyeing Hincapie and could get a deal done for around €30m (£26.2m).

Spurs Web Opinion
A left-sided centre-back is not likely to be a priority for Conte in January, with Lenglet and Davies both being solid in the first part of the campaign. So, Spurs are likely looking at the likes of Hincapie, Evan Ndicka, and Alessandro Bastoni as potential options for next summer.
