Journalist claims European giant were ‘impressed’ by Spurs man’s display vs Arsenal

Bild journalist Christian Falk has revealed that Bayern Munich insiders were impressed with Harry Kane’s performance against Arsenal despite the striker not getting on the scoresheet, and backed the Bundesliga giants to try to sign the striker in the summer.

The speculation linking Kane with a move to Bayern has cooled down over the last few weeks, with some German outlets reporting that the German club are having doubts over whether the Tottenham man would be willing to move to the Allianz Arena (Sport BILD 04/01/23 via Sport Witness).

Over the last couple of weeks, the England captain has been mooted as a potential target for Real Madrid, with Los Blancos expected to turn their attention to the Spurs star after being frustrated in their efforts to sign Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe (Todofichajes).

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs even revealed last week that Chelsea’s new owners are big admirers of the 29-year-old (CaughtOffside).

Falk has now claimed that Julian Nagelsmann’s side have not given up on their pursuit of the Tottenham star just yet.

When asked about Bayern’s interest in Kane, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “Bayern Munich are still keeping an eye on him. I heard they were impressed with his performance yesterday. Although he lost, they saw that he is always able to score.

“Even if his team are playing badly, he is always the man who can change it. They are impressed with how he plays in the box. How fast he is, his aerial ability. They say he’s a complete player and if there’s a chance to get him, they will try.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not convinced that Kane would leave the Premier League before breaking Shearer’s record, which is why a move to Bayern or Real Madrid is probably not on the cards for the 29-year-old. If Man Utd continue on their upward trajectory under Erik Ten Hag, a move to Old Trafford could become a tempting prospect for the striker either next summer or in 2024.
