Journalist reports key update on the Harry Kane to Bayern Munich situation

Florian Plettenberg has taken to Twitter to share an update on the Harry Kane transfer saga, and claims the player is now convinced he wants to join Bayern Munich this summer.

Thus far, Kane has been immensely loyal to Tottenham Hotspur in his career. The 29-year-old is a one-club-man at this point, except for a handful of loan spells in his early playing days, but that may be about to change.

Kane has now entered the final year of his current contract and, with yet another season passing without silverware at Spurs, it has been suggested that he now sees this as the perfect time to move on in search of trophies to add to his personal accolades.

Bayern Munich have already had one bid turned down for the England captain, but the Evening Standard claims the German giants are prepared to return with offers as high as £86 million this summer.

Whether that will be enough to prise Kane away from Spurs remains to be seen.

Harry Kane only wants to join Bayern Munich

According to the latest from Florian Plettenberg on the situation, Bayern are indeed planning an improved offer for Kane, and the player himself now has his heart set on the move to Germany.

Plettenberg said: “Bayern in direct contact with Tottenham. A new offer is still planned. Boss [Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge in charge. He’s now leading the negotiations with Spurs.”

The Sky Sports Germany journalist added the following on Kane’s stance: “[Marco] Neppe has convinced Kane to join Bayern this summer. Kane’s signal: He ONLY wants to join Bayern.”

This news goes hand in hand with a report from 90 Min recently which suggested Kane’s agent and representatives are ‘actively pushing’ for the move to happen.

Spurs Web Opinion

With each passing day, I am finding myself more and more resigned to the fact that Harry Kane is leaving us this summer.

It will be incredibly painful to see him go, but we would have to find a replacement for him one day anyway, so it may as well be now.

At least that way, we can start a completely fresh project under Postecoglou.
