Journalist reports Spurs and Arsenal have scouted 24-year-old France international

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Monaco centre-back Axel Disasi is on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.

Antonio Conte is thought to be intent on strengthening his backline in January, with the likes of Rodrigo Becao (Mondo Udinese), Josko Gvardiol (Tuttosport), Stefan De Vrij (CMW.it), Milan Skriniar (90 min) and Jakub Kiwior (Fichajes) being among the names mooted as targets for the North London club over recent weeks.

Jones has now revealed that Disasi, who has been a fixture in Monaco’s backline over the last two and a half years, is also being eyed by the Lilywhites. The 24-year-old, who has also featured as a right-back for his club’s side, has made two appearances for Les Blues at the World Cup so far.

Disasi was also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar during the summer transfer window, with Marca reporting at the time that Conte’s men were battling Atletico Madrid for the Frenchman.

Jones has now revealed that Spurs could face competition from London rivals West Ham and Arsenal for the Monaco star.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Axel Disasi is another player to look out for. He plays as a defender for Monaco and has been scouted by the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham, sources say.”

Disasi is very well suited to a back three, with the right centre-back position arguably being his best one. So, he would certainly fit the profile of defender that Conte is likely looking for as Davinson Sanchez has not proven to be a good enough cover for the injury-prone Cristian Romero.
