Journalist reports teenage starlet is ‘supposed to be happy at Spurs’ amid links away

Football London journalist, Alasdair Gold, has claimed that Mikey Moore is ‘supposed to be happy at Spurs’ from what he hears, amidst links away from the club.

The 15-year-old is a highly-rated forward in the Tottenham academy but Gold claims ‘he’s been linked with other clubs’. Spurs have a somewhat troubled history of losing academy talent of late, with the likes of Marcus Edwards, Noni Madueke, and Dilan Markanday all seeking new challenges.

John Wenham, who always has an ear to the ground on Tottenham youth players through his Lilywhite Rose channel, recently revealed that those inside the club speak highly of the teenager (Football Insider). The Athletic also described Moore as ‘magical’ in a recent article.

Although he was keen to not put too much emphasis on a 15-year-old, as there is a long road ahead of a player that young, Alasdair Gold did relay that Moore is supposed to be happy at Tottenham.

He said via his YouTube channel: “Young Mikey Moore, I don’t want to big him up too much because I think he’s 15, but he’s playing very much above his age group. He’s been linked with other clubs.

“From what I understand, I think he is supposed to be happy at Spurs. But again, we’re talking about a 15-year-old. I really don’t want to go that way and hype up these players because a 15-year-old becoming a star is such a long way still to go.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

You can never tell whether someone will make it at that age, but Tottenham really do need to start collecting some top-quality young talent and actually offer a path through to the first-team. Otherwise, you miss out on so much talent and money to your rivals.
