Journalist reports what Tottenham fans were chanting at Daniel Levy today

It appears that large sections of the Tottenham fanbase are far from pleased with their chairman, Daniel Levy, after chants were heard during the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa today.

While New Year’s Day is supposed to be a time of celebration and recovery from the night before, Tottenham seemed to be struggling with the same hangover they have had all season.

The first half was more solid than normal, but the Lilywhites lacked their usual cutting edge in the second 45, as well as shipping two at the other end.

A Hugo Lloris howler and some shambolic defending allowed Buendia and Luiz to net for Villa within 15 minutes of each other, with Tottenham lacking any kind of response at the other end.

The Athletic journalist, Tim Spiers, reported that some Spurs fans could be heard chanting ‘Daniel Levy, get out of our club’. The chairman now has a whole month to turn those opinions around in the January transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It is starting to feel like it did towards the end with Jose Mourinho. A big-name manager who was used to getting here-and-now winners through the door, but was arguably restricted by Tottenham’s conflicting transfer strategy. It begs the question, why not hire a head coach the lines up with your plans?
