Football.London’s Rob Guest has revealed that Cristian Romero trains with the same intensity that he displays during match days.

The Tottenham squad flew out to Portugal on Monday ahead of their Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon this evening.

Antonio Conte has a fully fit squad to choose from other than Lucas Moura, who the Spurs boss confirmed is expected to return to action after the international break (Beanyman Sports).

Ahead of travelling to Lisbon, the Spurs squad had an opening training session at Hotspur Way on Monday, and Guest revealed that one particular player stood out with the intensity he showed – Romero.

The journalist explained that the players took part in a rondo and looked to complete 20 passes before the players in the middle got a touch on the ball.

Guest stated that Romero was not messing around when it was his turn to be in the middle of the circle, with the Argentine closing down his teammates with a lot of intensity.

When Brandon Austin made a pass to Bissouma, the centre-back allegedly slid in as he does during a match to win the ball before the Mali international could get to it.

I am not at all surprised that Romero trains with the same intensity as he plays as one can tell that he is a fighter.

Some Spurs players might have breathed a sigh of relief at not being on the end of Lamela’s challenges in training anymore when he left last summer, only to find out that another Argentine had arrived to take his place.
