Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Villarreal have an option to sign Juan Foyth permanently at the end of his loan spell.
Tottenham Hotspur confirmed yesterday that the Argentine has joined the La Liga side on a season-long loan deal.
It was revealed that he had committed his future to the Lilywhites by signing a contract extension until 2023, before completing his switch to Spain.
The defender has not made a single appearance for Jose Mourinho’s men this season (transfermarkt.com) and will be hoping to get some much-needed first team football under his belt at Villarreal.
Gold revealed that Foyth received a pay rise in his new deal with Tottenham and that Villarreal will be covering the entirety of his wages during the loan.
While he did not mention how much the option to buy Foyth is worth, he did suggest that the defender will have a say as to whether he returns to Tottenham or permanently moves to the Spanish outfit come the end of the loan spell.
