Journalist reveals eleven Spurs first-team players absent from Ipswich friendly – Including Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in action against Ipswich Town in their first pre-season friendly of the month, with a number of first-team stars on show.

The likes of Toby Alderweireld, Heung-min Son, Hugo Lloris, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Lucas Moura, and more started the game this afternoon.

Some of the Spurs lads returned to training last week as they look ahead to the new Premier League 2020/21 season in September.

However, Jose Mourinho named a very youthful bench against Ipswich today, including Dennis Cirkin, Harvey White, and even two 16-year-olds from the academy.

This meant that a number of first-team stars were not even selected for the tie, with Jonathan Veal now revealing that some of them are back at Hotspur Way training today instead.

Veal named the absent stars who were not even watching on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Aurier, Dier, Sanchez, Tanganga, Rose, Ndombele, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Lamela, Bergwijn, and Kane.

It remains to be seen who features in the next friendly and whether some of the above could potentially be on the way out during the summer transfer window.
