Journalist reveals Fenerbahce star is on Tottenham’s list of Bastoni alternatives

Ekrem Konur has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could turn their attention to Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae if their pursuit of Alessandro Bastoni falls through.

Bastoni was thought to be Tottenham’s number one centre-back target this summer but it was always reported that the Italian is not keen on leaving Inter Milan (Football.London).

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed on Tuesday that Spurs had begun talks with Inter over a deal for Bastoni while 90 min claimed that the 23-year-old had a change of heart and communicated to Inter that he would like to reunite with Antonio Conte at Spurs.

However, Bastoni’s agent revealed yesterday, after having a meeting with the Inter hierarchy, that the centre-back will be staying put this summer (Matteo Moretto).

Ekrem Konur suggested that Kim, who has had an impressive season for Fenerbahce since joining from Beijing Guoan last summer, is one of the backup options on Tottenham’s radar.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe that Spurs are likely to be in the market for two centre-backs this summer as Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon could both depart. So, while Bastoni and Torres seemed to be the preferred candidates for the left centre-back role, perhaps Conte sees Kim as an option to cover for Dier and Romero.
