Journalist reveals he noticed something new about Postecoglou after NLD defeat

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare has revealed that he has never seen Ange Postecoglou as angry as he was following Tottenham’s 3-2 loss against Arsenal on Sunday.

While Arsenal did come into the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as favourites, what was disappointing for Spurs fans was the way the home side rolled over for their fierce rivals.

Despite dictating play for much of the game, the Lilywhites were architects of their own downfall, gifting an own goal and failing to deal with another set-piece, while also being caught napping on the counter-attack.

Postecoglou was angry after derby defeat

Postecoglou acknowledged in his post-match press conference that the team had let down the supporters, admitting that they made bad decisions and lost focus at key moments of the game (Football.London).

It seems like the defeat really stung the Australian, with Eccelshare revealing that the 58-year-old was angrier than usual after the full-time whistle, despite Tottenham’s fight back.

One can understand why that game has left a lot of Tottenham supporters and Postecoglou infuriated as we threw away the points with a couple of sloppy moments. You cannot afford to make those sorts of mistakes against this level of opposition and expect to get anything from the game.
