Journalist reveals how much Ndombele could cost Lyon in option-to-buy deal

Julien Maynard from Telefoot has reported that Tanguy Ndombele to Lyon is now a done deal, with the French midfielder joining his old club on a six-month loan.

Lyon will reportedly not have to pay a penny in terms of a loan fee, but the option to buy is set at around €65m (£54m). However, Maynard does not reveal how much of Ndombele’s wages Lyon will be paying during the six-month loan.

This is essentially the exact fee Tottenham paid Lyon two-and-a-half years ago for Ndombele, which was a club-record £53.8m (BBC).

This all comes after Fabrizio Romano reported that Ndombele was having his medical in France today before completing a loan move to the Groupama Stadium.

In his 91 appearances for Tottenham over the past three seasons, Ndombele managed ten goals and nine assists, although he rarely finished 90 minutes (TransferMarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Lyon took up that option to buy Ndombele at £54m, it would probably be the best piece of business I have ever seen from Daniel Levy. I severely doubt they will pay that amount, but hopefully Ndombele bosses it over the next six months to convince them.
