Journalist reveals how much Wolves want for Pedro Neto this summer

Pedro Neto is a wanted man, but Wolves are not going to let their star player leave too easily. The latest on the situation claims Wolves will demand around £80m for the winger this summer.

It was revealed earlier this month that Wolves may be forced to sell Pedro Neto if they want to sign any new players at the end of the season, and that both Spurs and Arsenal are ‘keen to do business’ for the player (The Sun).

Fabrizio Romano affirmed this interest (via CaughtOffside), claiming Neto is one of the wingers Ange Postecoglou is looking to sign this summer.

Various reports have suggested different price tags for Neto, with The Standard claiming a bid of £60m would be required, while GiveMeSport put forward £85m as the potential price tag for the 23-year-old.

Wolves will want £80m for Pedro Neto

According to David Ornstein in his latest Q+A session for The Athletic, Wolves will look for £80m to sell up, but he insisted it’s not certain that Neto will even leave. Curiously, his comment didn’t include Tottenham as a potential suitor, either.

When asked where Neto will go this summer, he wrote: “First thing to say is there’s no guarantee he leaves Wolves. He’s under contract until 2027 and the club are on course for a much higher finish than they would have budgeted for, which strengthens their footballing and financial outlook.

“It is no secret that the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United (perhaps Manchester United, too, with Dan Ashworth moving there from Newcastle) are all admirers of the Portugal international, although they may harbour some reservations about his fitness record.

“It would also take around £80m for Wolves to part with Neto, as I understand it, and that is another obstacle. So far there has been no concrete movement ahead of the summer, so it’s impossible to say where he is most likely to end up.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no way we should be paying £80m for Pedro Neto. He’s simply not worth it, given his injury record. We could and should move on from this option and find someone else who will cost far less.
