Journalist reveals how some Spurs players are feeling about Conte’s arrival

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, there is excitement in the Tottenham dressing room ahead of the potential arrival of Antonio Conte.

Tottenham parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo and his coaching staff on Monday just fourth months after their appointment.

Not only did the Portuguese coach struggle to get a tune out of the players on the pitch, but there were also multiple reports (Football Insider and The Sun) during his short tenure stating that some senior stars were unhappy with his man-management style.

It is perhaps quite telling that none of the Tottenham players have taken to social media to thank Nuno or send him a farewell message yet after his sacking.

The man who is allegedly set to replace the 47-year-old, Conte, has a reputation of being a hard taskmaster, with the Italian being known for his intense double training sessions.

However, the 52-year-old does boast of a great CV, having won an array of league titles over the last few years.

According to Crook, the Spurs players are genuinely excited at the prospect of working under Conte.

While Nuno’s tactical approach was uninspiring, what also counted against the Portuguese coach was his reserved personality. It did not seem like any of the players really developed a rapport with him.

While Conte is known as a hard taskmaster and can be ruthless if he felt a player is not pulling his weight, the Italian is also an inspirational figure who is skilled at getting his players to give their all. So, I certainly expect a new managerial bounce over the next few weeks.
